Requesting Your Transcript

Requesting Your Transcript (Information for Non-Syracuse University Students)

Your home college or university will need an official transcript from Syracuse University in order to award credit for your semester on an SU Abroad program. Transcripts are not issued automatically – you need to submit a written request to the S.U. Transcript Office once you have confirmed all your grades are posted and you have no financial holds. Here’s what to do:

  • STEP 1: Activate your NetId (if you haven't used the MySlice system). You will need your SU ID number (sent to you prior to the start of your program).

  • STEP 2: Check to make sure all your grades have been posted on Syracuse University's MySlice website (under Student Services/Enrollment, select 'View Grades').

Grades for courses taken at one of our centers are generally posted within two weeks of the semester's end. If you studied at a foreign institution (including Beijing's Tsinghua University, the Chilean Universities, Madrid's Option II, Florence's Option II or III, or Strasbourg's Option II, III or IV), you may need to wait several additional weeks after the program ends for all your grades to post.

If you have questions regarding your grades, contact Amy Sturgeon - Student Records Specialist: asteve03@syr.edu (phone: 315-443-9414).

  • STEP 3: Check to make sure you have no financial holds (Syracuse University will not release a transcript if you have any outstanding financial obligations). In MySlice, under Student Services/Finances, select 'View Holds.'

If you have questions regarding financial holds or billing, contact Nancy Hard - Direct Billing Clerk: nahard@syr.edu (phone: 315-443-3090).

  • STEP 4: Request your transcript. Make sure you know the correct address for the office at your home school that needs to receive your transcript. Follow the instructions on the Syracuse University Registrar's website for submitting the transcript request form via mail or fax. Allow up to four weeks for your home institution to receive your transcript. Syracuse University does not send transcripts by fax or electronically. Priority consideration may be accorded to requests with upcoming deadlines (if noted on transcript request form).
