FIA305 : London: A History Through Architecture
Description:
The growth of London from Roman times to the present, around its two centers, the City and Westminster. Class lectures augmented by a weekly visit to buildings of architectural and/or historical interest. These include the British Museum, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Whitehall Banqueting House, Somerset House, the new Lloyds Building, Royal Festival Hall, and the Royal Opera House. Course fee will be billed from Syracuse to cover site entrance costs (2009-10 fee = $65). Optional four-day field trip to Paris, visiting historical and modern buildings, with course fee payable in London with Visa or MasterCard (fee announced in London).
Not open to students taking FIA 301 or FIA 400.1, except for FIA majors or minors by permission.
