PTG300.1 : New Approaches to Renaissance Painting Techniques and Conservation through Modern Technology
Description:
Introduction to the traditional techniques of easel and wall painting, as practiced in Florence and Tuscany since the 14th century through the Renaissance, as well as basic information regarding the preservation of such artworks, with particular emphasis on modern technological advances. A course fee will be billed from Syracuse for studio supplies and site visits in Florence (2009-10 fee = $190). Limited enrollment with preference given to students admitted to Studio Art Program with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
