VID211.1 : Video Sketchbook

Description:

Course provides a technical aesthetic, and creative introduction to video. Students engage with historic and current debates and concepts around video art while developing their own practice. Working in small groups on individual projects, students interact with diverse locations around London to create their video works, providing the framework to reflect on and construct their experiences in London and relationship to the city. Course includes film viewings, discussions, “ideas workshops,” and end-of-semester exhibition of selected works. A lab fee will be billed from Syracuse (2010 fee = $100). For students with little or no video experience. Limited enrollment with enrollment priority given to Design Program students and to others for whom this course meets a specific degree requirement and who list this course among the first five on their Course Request form and on their application form.
